747, A-300 cockpit crew emergency escape handle and reel.  The way it works is at any altitude below 10,000 feet, the crew can escape a burning cockpit simply by grabbing one of 4 handles in the cockpit ceiling, and launching out of the crew escape door. Two rules apply:  Send the second officer first. Don't tell the passengers.
